The citizen registration to benefit from the discounts on the next garbage collection fee will begin on Monday, February 10th, and will remain active until Tuesday, April 15th.
«The registration in the registry involves the transfer of personal data from the TMC or the Ireki application, essential to benefit from the tax discounts for the use of the organic fraction container or for carrying out individual or community composting,» explained Maider Etxebarria, mayor of Vitoria-Gasteiz.
Registration to authorize the use of data can be done through a form on the municipal website or at self-service kiosks located in the Citizen Service Offices. It will be necessary to come to carry out this procedure with the Municipal Citizen Card (TMC) or a digital certificate. Subsequently, a face-to-face phase will be opened to complete this procedure.
A simple and intuitive screen
Citizens who choose the online option can access a specific section on the municipal website starting this Monday. After providing the different keys and passwords required by the system, a simple and intuitive form will appear.
In the first box, the domicile on which the discount will be applied must be selected. «In the same house, there may be several TMCs, and this step is necessary to consolidate them at a single address, so that the uses of all of them are counted.»
Thinking about all kinds of situations, there is a second box where the possibility of providing another address is offered.
The penultimate step is to fill in the data transfer consent box to the City Council, before finalizing the registration.
With these simple steps, the transfer of data from each card linked to an address and the number of openings in 2024 will be completed to apply, in addition to the 10% discount for registration, an additional 10% discount if the number of brown container openings carried out during 2024 is met.
Distribution of 320,000 compostable bags
The delivery process of 10-liter bags for private homes began on September 20th when a total of 1.9 million compostable bags were made available to the population.
«The collection data from the brown containers demonstrate the extraordinary acceptance that this measure has had, with a 25% increase in collection in the organic containers, in the last 3 months of 2024,» highlighted Etxebarria.
The delivery operation is maintained in the control points of 12 civic centers and the Ariznabarra sports center. Just present the TMC and receive 90 10-liter bags with a validity period of 4 months.
